CILC is proud to announce that on 12 December 2019, we will be launching The Hague Rules on Business and Human Rights Arbitration (The Hague Rules). Join us on 12 December from 14.00 to 17.30 at the Peace Palace and receive a first copy!
Why The Hague Rules?
The Hague Rules bear great promise as a new, consensual and flexible remedy mechanism for both vulnerable people and businesses in accordance with the UNGP-based corporate responsibility to respect human rights across the globe. The launch represents the culmination of years of work. We look forward to sharing The Hague Rules with you and discuss together how this new set of customized arbitration rules can contribute to filling the judicial remedy gap.
Speakers during the launch event include, amongst others, Ms. Bahia Tahzib-Lie, the Dutch Human Rights Ambassador and Ms. Saskia Bruines, Alderman of the City of The Hague. Judge Bruno Simma will hand over the first copy of The Hague Rules to Ms. Tahzib-Lie and Ms. Bruines after which both of them will deliver a keynote.
Information on the program of the launch can be found here.
